Covid-19 Health and Safety

Covid-19 Salud y Seguridad

Safety is a foundational aspect of our school and the new realities of Covid have made this even more true. It is clearer now than ever before that what we do ripples outward and impacts many. We feel that we will become an even stronger community of connection as we navigate this uncertain time together.

Roots y Ramas bases all decisions on safety and prioritizes the collective wellness of our staff and families, especially the most vulnerable among us, over all else. To minimize the risk of COVID-19 exposure or contraction, we review and follow the recommendations and policies of Alameda County, the State of California, the California Department of Public Health, the CDC, and the Alameda County Office of Education to determine our school’s approach to health protocols and closures.

At this time, we require all staff to be fully up to date on their vaccination status. We are using the rubric below to determine our Covid protocols and so at this moment, since our community rate is at the green level, masks are optional. You can review our Health and Safety Protocols here This is an evolving document and as we all know, realities are shifting constantly and as such so may our policies.

We follow the CDC flow charts below. We require children exhibiting any kind of cold, flu or Covid symptoms - runny nose, cough, mucus etc to test before attending school and to wear a mask if testing negative.
